We All Die: A Reflection on Tragedy, Injustice and Acceptance in the Hourglass.

Our physical body exists in an hourglass.

From the moment of our birth,

until our last breath…

our bodies live in this physical space,

bound by this thing we call time.

We all die.

It is ordained.

It was ordained from the moment we became aware of, the I,

from the moment we became aware of time.

Though it is ordained, death…

it is not acceptable — always.

It is not to be “accepted” — always.

Death, in its joyful form, is an epilogue and an ode to a long life,

well-fought,

well-lived,

JUSTLY, in time,

with absolution.

Here, the death of our body, MAY, be joyful.

Here, the death of our body, MAY, be sad — perhaps melancholy joy.

Here, it is NOT tragic.

But when death is undignified,

when it is premature,

when it is unnecessary,

then, it is tragic.

Is it, then, unjust too?

Is tragedy unjust?

Is the undignified, premature or unnecessary death of beauty, intrinsically unjust?

Tragedy moves the soul to pain,

it drives the body to tears,

it may debilitate the living who love the dead,

for a time — perhaps long.

But tragic death is NOT always unjust.

Though unjust death is ALWAYS tragic.

When is a death unjust?

When, it is

caused

When it is caused by man’s malice,

when it is caused my man’s need for exploitation,

when it is caused by man’s incompetence,

when it is caused by man’s negligence,

then, a death is unjust.

An unjust death is ALWAYS tragic too.

To accept?

Death, is accepted.

When it is dignified,

when it is timely,

when it is “necessary”.

Tragic death, is accepted,

though it moves the soul,

though it tears the heart,

though it strains the body.

Tragic death is accepted, indeed!

But UNJUST death?

Caused,

Undignified,

Premature,

Unnecessary,

or some putrid combination thereof,

is man’s doing.

UNJUST death is a crime — because it is caused by men.

UNJUST death is never acceptable,

No matter how much time is left in the hourglass of the killed!

UNJUST death NEVER heals.

UNJUST death rarely scars over,

without the intervention of just men

with just laws,

in time.

Divine law, be damned!

The cheap theology of immortality, be damned!

Forgiveness, be damned!

Snake-oil!

Sold by hypocrites in glittering robes and frocks,

living in rooms with stained glass bound by the walls of fake authority!

No clarity! Incubator of injustice itself!

We live in a fallen world.

A world where Good battles Evil in man’s heart, mind and time.

A world where “the just” see “the unjust”.

May “the good” NEVER accept “the unjust”.

May man’s law damn “the unjust” to oblivion.

May “the unjust” NEVER make man’s law — for, then, injustice will reign on earth…

to kill empathy…

to murder beauty…

to desecrate the light we call, human!

Death,

caused,

undignified,

premature,

unnecessary….is man’s injustice.

It is rejected — NEVER accepted… NEVER forgiven!

May man’s law vanquish unjust death on earth.

Divine law of forgiveness, be damned! You are the devil’s bluff on earth.

Forgiveness and Acceptance come,

but AFTER, only after,

man’s law has done justice.

To heal?

Nay, only to scar.
